Circle Up Event Sept 12th
Circle Up is Initiatives of Change's latest community dialogue program that aims to bring together the Richmond community to have higher conversations about the deeper issues of society. Please join Initiatives of Change USA in the circle on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Main Richmond Public Library in the Gelman Room, 101 East Franklin Street.
Come, Richmond and Tri-Cities residents, to deepen our shared understandings and engage in meaningful conversations that center justice, peace and community. Share what these ideals mean to you; what they mean to your family.
If there was ever a time to continue the work of racial healing, this is it. The power of sharing together about the things that make life worth living—mutual respect, honesty and appreciation for the incredible mix of people that live and work in and around Richmond— is a power that can turn challenges into fresh, new choices.
Dinner is on us as our facilitator, Janine Bell of the Elegba Folklore Society, will encourage meaningful dialogue about our humanity, our lived experiences and our desires for equity.IofC USA is also in partnership with the Jewish Community Federation and the Baptist Ministers Conference of Richmond and Vicinities.
The goal is to enhance our collective respect for each other and our lived experiences to brighten the community around us. This culture of truth, understanding and grace will show our children personal behavior that values everyone. Together, let us honor our ancestors and affirm our elders in the continuation of their efforts. They have passed the baton to us. Let us consider this moment and a future that transforms how we relate to each other.
Perhaps you have an organization to Circle Up as well. We will focus on truth-telling, building new relationships, enhancing our quality of life and healing.
Join us for this first in a series opportunity to listen and be heard.
