Mark de Clive-Lowe is the Founding Artist in Residence with La Ceiba Festival. The festival began in April 2020 and provides global participants - especially musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, writers and more - opportunities to create inclusive programming focused on healing, belonging, heritage, and collective expression. In April and May alone, La Ceiba Festival has generated nearly 7,000 views across 52 countries.

We are happy to partner with multidisciplinary artist, Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL), to unveil his first virtual installation right here on the Initiatives of Change USA website.

MdCL is the Founding Artist in Residence with La Ceiba Festival and as a part of this residence, he shares this historical audiovisual journey entitled, “An Oral History on Music, Identity, Belonging and Healing.”

Viewers will travel through the fascinating discography MdCL has built over the last 25 years across multiple countries including New Zealand, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. The retrospective is told from Mark’s point-of-view and interrogates his cultural upbringing; identity, belonging and home; passion and love for making music; creative collaboration and international community-making; and a detailed sharing of educational tools and resources with up-and-coming musicians.  Enjoy!
