Coverage of Irvo Otieno Townhall

Our Town Hall for Irvo Otieno, on May 24 2023 brought out many people from the community. It has been three months and since the death of Irvo Otieno at the hands of Richmond State police, well over 200 people gathered at Virginia Union University for a town hall discussion on Black mental health in the community. The town hall held even more significant as it was the day before the 3rd year anniversary of the death of George Floyd. We were honored to have an incredible panel speak on this subject, including Civil rights attorney Ben Crump. This is a crisis in our nation and justice must be seen in our community if we are truly going to see change come.
