Meet the Incredible Women of the Global Alumni Initiative

The Global Alumni Initiative Network (GAIN) has just celebrated the last of thirty one days highlighting inspirational women from the Initiatives of Change family. March marks Women's History Month in the U.S. and March 8 is International Women’s Day. Throughout the month, we had the chance to illustrate the tremendous efforts of women and girls around the world who daily shape transformative futures for their communities. This includes healing processes stimulated by the COVID-19 pandemic and justice actions combatting racial, ethnic and gender inequity.

Women-identifying alumni of GAIN (IofC USA's Global Alumni Initiative including Caux Scholars program in Switzerland and Asia Plateau, the Community Trustbuilding Fellowship, and the Narrative Change Collaborative) from different corners of the globe, of different ages and with different life experiences, shared their stories. Women spoke of their personal development, building self-confidence by knowing themselves. They mentioned the inspirational figures in their lives. One shared these words: “Like life, the beauty of success lies in its process. Struggle and success are correlated and a woman, I feel, knows the art of making the impossible possible in an elegant way.” It was a month of powerful, uplifting, moving tales. Women of GAIN, we see you and are honored to be a part of your life journeys.
